I just got a new IUD and my dr said she wanted to get an ultrasound bc it was difficult to put in (this is my second time getting one) I just got an appt for an internal ultrasound.. do they hurt? iud pain was HORRIBLE for me and im scared

this same exact thing happened to me, the ultrasound tech was super nice and made me comfortable and it didn't hurt at all, just felt weird. They checked on the outside of my stomach first then did the internal one. So it seems scary but it was in and out 15 minutes. :)

I wouldn’t say they hurt but are extremely uncomfortable😭, it’s like a somewhat skinny long stick and my lady had me insert it myself and she just moved it around🫣

I also felt the extreme pain and it probably took an hour to get the iud in, so i can definitely confirm it was nothing like that
