Most of the people who seek professional help for a porn or sex addiction have not hit rock bottom bottom in their lives the way people with drug or gambling problems do. These people have not lost their jobs or housing, they still have relationships with their families, and they are not at risk of serious injury or death. It’s usually because they experience a moment of profound guilt

I think in the next few decades it will slowly become more well understood how detrimental this has been to so many peoples’ lives. But right now it’s hard to be public about it bc our generation is in school, looking to launch our careers. I see this as a paradigm shift of like 2030s 2040s tho

Attend just a handful of open SAA meetings and ask people about their stories. Everything you just mentioned has happened to people in those rooms

Actually there’s a lot of people who accumulate debt paying for OFs or paying for sex and i know issues caused by porn have driven families apart. I definitely don’t think it’s nearly as bad but it’s definitely an issue that should get talked about more
