
Yeah, im aware the blue edge is chromatic aberration. Thats not what im talking about. Also no you arent seeing our atmosphere being lit up in this image. I mean technically you are looking through it but in this photo it wouldnt be visible except in that it slightly modifies the black levels across the entire image uniformly.
Good point. thought they were talking about the conditions in space, but data links are the biggest problem. Still, you can get some amazing pictures from there with a small setup, for example voyager’s pictures of jupiter. It’s also true that things usually look “fake” in space due to the lighting. Not saying they should do better, just giving reasons as someone who has a degree in this. It WILL look super “clean” though, just not very artistic or high res
