shes literally a news anchor’s mother’s obviously this is broadcasted everywhere. There hasnt been a ransom case like this in YEARS.

upvote 1591 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #1 1w

Well there aren’t typically cases like this for the average person lol. Most people aren’t getting kidnapped for ransom because their family doesn’t have the money to make it worthwhile. That’s why this story is much more rare and is getting more coverage. It won’t kill you to just send your condolences and not make this into a different issue entirely.

I was gonna say, the odds that this was just a botched robbery where they accidentally killed her is much higher than an abduction. Allegedly there was blood in multiple rooms.

That is in fact very insensitive. Look up the effects of ambiguous loss. I’m sure they are very aware that she could be gone but not knowing can be incredibly hard for families.

I think this is literally what they’re saying. She’s only receiving this much attention because she’s related to someone famous. People go missing literally every single day and it never turns into a nationwide news story. Their cases often go cold and their families never get closure.

not to off topic but did you learn the term “ambiguous loss” from pretty little liars?

Im sure if a kind went missing for millions in dollars of ransom theyd cover it internationally.

upvote 63 downvote

Because it is very very rare that an elderly woman is kidnapped, much less that of a very public news anchor.

I’m just saying, the news isn’t talking abt Alex Pretti anymore or much of the files. Let alone what other shit the government is doing to screw us. I get it, she’s lost, it’s sad. I’m sorry for the family. But tons of people go missing and don’t get this coverage, even old people.

Yea kids don’t go missing for millions of dollars in America? If they did don’t you think… idk? Everyone would try to do this and get rich? If anything is for a million of dollars people will do it?

upvote 16 downvote

normal people dont have millions of dollars so people arent going to kidnap people who dont have millions of dollars bc then they will never get paid said millions of dollars. Duh.

Her daughter reported on Epstein victims back in 2019 I think, which in this government climate can make you a target.

Because her daughter is a news anchor who was literally one of the FIRST PEOPLE to interview the Epstein victims… so now coincidentally her mom goes missing while they’re releasing all the files?

Actually, a lot of people whose kids go missing and don’t return are people of poor background because they don’t have the resources to track their children or get their child’s story out. It literally doesn’t matter WHO the person is. The point is she’s only getting representation and acknowledgement because her daughter is famous, that’s not a good thing, it’s just the truth, and if people cared more about ANYONE who went missing, I’m sure we would be finding a lot more people and children
