From what I’ve read people who lose limbs or sections of their skin can feel phantom pain or phantom stimulus. Does that happen with breasts too? Like, is there a phantom weight or stimulus that only occurred prior to surgery? My hope is no because you wanted them gone for a reason (valid) but I am curious.
Very good question. I was unconscious so I don’t really know, but there are videos on “double incision top surgery” if you’re curious. I think they basically made a crescent shape with my boob fold and the skin that would be my pec, cut the tissue away (preserving the nipples) and then join the two skin areas together. Then they reattach the nipples superficially.
Good question! I was taken care of by family, and I think I was adequately prepared. Every patient has his own unique constraints, but there are some trends. You’ll want a wedge pillow since you can’t raise your arms more than 90°, so getting up is like a vampire, lol. Try a reacher grabber tool, wet wipes, and stool softeners for painkiller induced constipation!!
