Is anyone a vet!! My cat recently had a litter of 8 (her first big litter) and I noticed her nips started to look weird! They aren’t hot and she’s continuing to nurse and is acting normal I’m just concerned (also I gently wiped her nips in the photo)🧍‍♀️

could it be that the kittens scratch her tummy when they eat? The kittens might have tiny sharp claws and when they knead, they might be accidentally hurting her, and the blood coagulates on her skin. If that’s what it is, i mean.

that being an option, still consult a veterinarian. like with humans, animals are very vulnerable after giving birth. They are very stressed and tired, and their immune system is not in top-shape, so if i were you i would constantly keep the vet updated about the cat’s wellbeing.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking she’s still acting very normal and feeding them regularly
