If someone was racist, and raised by racists, but then they change and do a 180 after realizing how messed up it was, shouldn’t we forgive them? A guy I knew his dad is racist and he moved away and now he’s reaching out to apologize for the way he was

It’s forgivable if they truly realize their mistakes and understand how harmful it can be and stop doing it. Basically, if they actually changed, yes

People changing to be better and realize their mistakes is always a good thing, but I think it is up to the individual on whether they want to forgive. Racism has very real and very harmful effects and those impacted are allowed to feel hurt, anger, etc and not be in a place to forgive. I think that is okay tho, it’s just accepting the consequences of previous actions. And if he can accept that not everyone will forgive him then I think that shows very beautiful growth.

Yes absolutely! People grow up the way they were raised but it’s 100% on them to learn and grow

People change. It’s okay to be hurt by things they said or did but it’s better late than never
