Any tips on dealing with grief? My dog is being put down in a few hours and this is my first experience with death. She’s my darling baby girl who got me through covid and depression.

I’m so sorry. I know it’s hard and it’s gonna be even harder these next few months. But she wouldn’t want you to be depressed. She wants you to be the person she loves, so try and keep doing all the things she loves doing with you

Thanks so much for the heartfelt wishes, everyone ❤️ my baby passed peacefully and surrounded by family. She had a long life so I’ve got plenty of things to add to a shrine for her.

Spend time with family, the people who knew her best and can remember her with you. But like the other comments said, think about how she’d want you to live. If you’re religious (even if you’re not), imagine her smiling down on you.

A place to remember her would be nice too, whether that’s a grave and a headstone or just a special stone or plant or something. I’m not religious but when I go home I make sure to visit the stones we have for my two dogs. I sit there and put my hand on each one in turn and talk to them in my head. Just to check in you know? Tell them about my life and how things are going. I think it helps.

This is a great idea, keep a place for her so that you can come to it when you miss her and talk to her soul
