We need more ppl like you. Tired of these ppl forcing you to believe them. Like bro I don’t believe what the Bible says but I’ll still kick it with you. I won’t care if you cancel plans to go to church. As long as you’re cool with me that’s all I care. Shit I’ll go to a mass with you too no big deal but doesn’t mean I believe it.
Oh yeah I can believe he was a real person. But the thing about the things where he alters the physical world. I mean we are all sons of god soooo??? Idk who this god is. For all I know it can be a damn alien dog that created us or a damn teddy bear made out of jello. If that’s what brought us here and created this place and the universe, that is our god. But that Bible stuff? Na bro I ain’t buying it after being catholic my whole life. If that’s what brings you peace hey bro that’s totally cool
Yes religion is man made I do believe that. And yes faith is what we gotta believe in. If Christ is your faith? hey so be it. As long as you’re not hurting anyone else you can have faith in damn satan for all I care. I’ll still treat you the same knowing you are respectful and not hurting anyone else. All I’m saying there is no way that Bible stuff is real.
Look at the clock, it’s Annoyingly Contrarian Agnostic Time! If you go deep enough, there really 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 a scientific explanation for the universe’s existence; we can only see so far back, and beyond that, we can only make educated guesses. A satisfyingly “scientific” explanation must be backed by experiment and observation, and we simply do not have access to the universe’s first moments like that. We’re pretty damn sure about the Big Bang…but not sure at all about what caused it
The things that we “know” in the soft sense you’re talking about are “known” because we have made observations that can be traced directly to those things. I cannot think of anything that I can directly trace to a god. I also cannot think of anything I can trace to a specific lack of a god.
so? you still dont know anything for a 100%, there are even things that we have no almost knowledge on like the universe and how it started. Does that mean the universe has been around forever? we dont know. Also for things like the bible. Jesus’ resurrection, where did his body go if his tomb was under 24 hour watch, we dont know but its mere vanishing is a trace
Who said there was a tomb or that it was under 24 hour watch? Some historians believe that his body was probably left up for days and picked at by scavenging creatures and then what was left was thrown in a common burial pit which was what the romans usually did. There probably wasn't a tomb ar all. That oart of it is probably bs invented later to answer questions about what happened. Bo on3 remembered by that point. Christianity starts with these claims of visions of jesus alive after his death
Do you not understand that the Bible is a book full of eye witness accounts? Nobody understands that these people lived back then and saw these things take place. Do you expect them to take pictures and videos for your proof 2000+ years ago? No they saw and they wrote it down…Think of it this way, what if I wrote a book about you and your life/things you did, right now? Say someone read this book 1000+ years from now wouldn’t they be wrong to say that it’s not true? You’re indeed living though.
You misunderstand my position: I agree with you that we don’t know how the universe started (because…well…it’s a fact that we don’t know that). I am an agnostic. Also, this is a great example of the central problem: the resurrection is an extraordinary claim of magic, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. We don’t have that. Four accounts and a few letters doesn’t cut it, particularly since we don’t even know exactly who the authors were or when they were writing
But, to your point about the origin of the universe, any account of the Big Bang’s spark is extraordinary, and so I am quite open to the possibility that it was a deliberate act by a god. That’s no better or worse than any other explanation. My only point is that nobody “knows” anything, not even loosely.
