A few days after my 18th birthday, I just went and got it. Yeah I knew it was permanent but it has meaning to me and I needed that meaning at that time of my life. It’s been almost 8 years since then. Do I regret it? Kind of. I still really like the meaning, but people have misinterpreted it and made me somewhat embarrassed to have it. Fortunately it’s only visible when I’m shirtless so it’s not a frequent annoyance. But I haven’t removed it because it’s important to me still.
is not the point of a tattoo not your own story? Sure, we regret tattoos because at the time received usually they fit whatever timeline we faced. It’s one thing to outgrow your tattoos, but I don’t think getting tattoos for “others approval” helps the case. I’m sorry you were treated badly for yours though. Honestly, I think tats are one of those beautiful things called free will: either you remove it or stand by it
