A lot of it is if you’re in school or have a troubled home life then your routine is basically ripped away from you which can trigger depressive episodes.

Absolutely. And I don’t think it’s just the lack of routine away from school either. The heat makes me incapable of functioning.

I really don’t see how people love this season. It’s too fucking hot, bugs are out, sweating and smelly, get sticky from sunscreen, etc

Genuine question how often are you going outside or leaving your house in general? I noticed I wouldn’t leave as much in the summer and would get depressed but once I started doing stuff I got better really quick.

I do since I live in the desert, so when it’s summer it’s far too hot to want to go and do anything outside so I’m just stuck inside all day

Yeah definitely. I live alone and in my college town so nobody is here so I basically just work and stay home. Not great for my mental health. Doesn’t help that I haven’t been taking my meds

I’ve been rotting in bed for much of the summer but my mom helped me realize that working out is the number one way to avoid that depression. not even lifting weights necessarily, a simple bike ride or jog gets the blood flowing and it’s an instant mood booster

well i think sweating releases the happy hormones so that makes sense. plus the sun brings out vitamin D which also helps get your mood up

Sweating does NOT make me happy so idk about that

idk there’s like science behind how working out releases endorphins which is why it makes you happier than before

Yes back in my hometown with my ex😍 makes me depressed all the time when we used to have a routine here and now I have to break that.
