Opinions needed! Is it passive aggressive to say “If you could…I would greatly appreciate it.” rather than outright asking the person to do something? The person writing the email always has a pissy attitude, but I could be reading too much into it.

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with that wording. it’s hard to tell someone to do something in general without it coming off as passive aggressive. the wording there definitely could’ve been ruder so i think the way they worded it was chill. most people don’t even say they would appreciate your help

Fair point. I’m probably putting a tone behind it because they are known to dictate amongst our colleagues.
