Get a vpn, supplemental insurance, Canadian paraphernalia (orange man, JD Vance and Candace making it real tough to be an American abroad)

Multiple cards that work and maybe a credit card that doesn’t charge interest for a year if you’re short on savings. Make sure cards are in apple wallet in case you lose them

Convert currency ahead of time instead of doing it as you need it. There's usually a higher fee when you're there.
