Why doesn’t denim retain odor in the way that other fabrics do? I will not wash my jeans for like 15 wears and it smells like fresh meadows. I will wear joggers once and they stink after 1 use.

Ironically, some people have the opposite experience with jeans. Over time, denim can become absorbent, causing it to retain smells for you, it could possibly be due to the difference in material and your own body. Denim is primarily made of cotton, a breathable fabric. If you check your joggers, you’ll find that it’s primarily made of polyester which isn’t breathable—it traps in heat, especially in hot weather, causing you to sweat, creating odor

You might want to switch to cotton-dominated fabrics. It’s even recommended you wear cotton underwear

Fascinating, thanks for the explanation! Also, how would cotton underwear work for like exercise? I sweat a lot and feel like I’d kinda just be sitting in soaked briefs vs wet wicking fabrics

That’s where you go opposite and why people usually have the opposite experience in jeans. Since cotton is very breathable, it means it also absorbs moisture, making it take longer to dry and cause chafing. For exercise, you’d want something like a polyester blend, nylon, seamless, or spandex underwear. Polyester is not as breathable as cotton, meaning it essentially repels moisture more. Plus it’s usually made to resist odor. So for day comfort = cotton, exercise = polyester blend, etc
