if you feel the need to go, then go, you’re never going to be too young and your problem is personal, don’t compare it to other people, i wish you the best of luck with your recovery ❤️‍🩹

definitely not too young, definitely should not wait until it gets worse. the AA meeting I went to, an older man told me how lucky I was to start going at my current age and how he wished he could’ve had the courage to do so

alcoholism doesn’t care about your age. if you need help then go for it!

i went to aa for a while. it works—you just gotta stick with it and find someone willing to emotionally take you on as a sponsor!!

they also have a young adults meeting. all ages still attend, but it’s led by a younger person and they have younger guest speakers if that feels more approachable to you

Also- if it’s something that you are stressed out about being in that type of supportive community where you’re able to discuss it openly will probably help:) proud of you for trying to take action and remember this is your life so do whatever is going to help you be the healthiest and happiest!!

Great young person meetings all over the country. Go to the meeting, listen for similarities. Find a sponsor, work the steps and be of service to others.

You know yourself better than anyone in the comments will ever, so if you think you should go to an AA meeting, then go

Not too young at all! If you’re old enough to struggle, you’re old enough to ask for help. If you’re nervous or think you might chicken/stop going, take a friend! They can even be a completely sober friend. You got this.

I loved being in a room of people coming together to get & stay sober. Helped me in my lowest. I left because 1. I am an addict 2. The commitment is crazy if you get sponsored (I’d go again unsponsored tbh) 3. Thirteenth stepping (be careful) There is a reason so many people are successful with their sobriety in this program, you do not have to have a sponsor to be there (many don’t & just vibe) but be clear of boundaries.

there isn’t an age requirement to recover the same way there isn’t an age requirement to become an addict but the fact that you want to get help and are willing to change speaks volumes about your character and i hope you are able to find peace create a support system that works for you and recover something i always say to myself is recovery is an option it may not be a linear process but it’s always an option and always possible

Is there AA for people addicted to s*x. My ex gf had to break up with me because on good days l would want it badly at least 5/6 times. And she couldn’t not keep up.
