I’m talking 1940’s cheap. When demand was relatively low, production was local (within the US), innovation was none existent, yet some how gas was $0.18.

That sounds cheap but it’s actually $2.50 in today’s dollars. Which begs the question; after all the wars, trillions spent in other countries, all the innovation, all the policy, efficiencies gained WHY THE FUCK IS ENERGY COST VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS WHEN WE DID THINGS 100% IN THE US???? Nobody had to die and we didn’t need to speed trillions on tax dollars in the Middle East. We could’ve spent that here on nuclear power and had the trash-to-fusion generator Back To The Future promised us.

Mississippi. 2.74 is the cheapest I’ve seen here in GA though. Remove all the taxes from gas and most places would be around 2.50. Except for CA. They won’t reach sub $3 until they recall their governor.
