If you’re being made fun of for being “woke” you’re probably on the right side of history. It’s sort of morphed into a meaningless descriptor used by right wingers to refer to someone who isn’t ideologically stuck in the Regan era.

Originally it meant that you were awake and aware of racism and racial discrimination. Eventually it began to include other types of discrimination. It’s not a bad thing, but it can be used to mean someone who’s “too woke”. What counts as too woke changes based on the situation and person

Actually it means your trying overtly hard to virtue signal that you are on the right side of history, there are people who are genuinely right about some things and then those who take those right ideals and think holding amplified and exaggerated versions of those beliefs makes them better when in reality it doesn’t really help much and makes them look stupid

Not necessarily, there are ideals and opinions that mean you care about other people and issues, and there are people who take these ideals and opinions, and believe holding amplified exaggerated versions of these beliefs makes them better. Basically caring about people and issues is one thing but when you do it performativly and virtue signal and make it out as if your better than those who don’t then that’s what would be considered woke

Usually from what I’ve heard woke is used to describe someone who is more performative about social issues, like someone who is virtue signaling and trying to appear morally superior to others
