Am I the only person in their 20s who’s still too scared to drive in big city traffic?

27 and I’d prefer highway driving to inner-city any day.

I’m scared of driving in general because I will fall asleep on the wheel and we will all crash and burn

18, had my license for 2 years and not scared of inner city traffic, or the highway (clear or with traffic). have taken road trips and spent hours in downtown traffic. inner city is not fun, but you gotta put your big girl pants on and deal with it.

Any of yall that have any sort of lack of confidence being on the road should not be there. Having your license means you know how to drive. If you’re afraid of your control over a large vehicle, you should not be driving. period.

Thats usually not what people are afraid of dumbass. They are afraid of being hit. Someone not seeing them and smacking into them. Someone cutting them off and pushing them. Things that happen everyday

I’m sorry my response caused you to angrily retort online. If you understand traffic laws and situational awareness this shouldn’t be an issue. Being on the road i think about 2 things, follow flow of traffic, avoid ppl who arent. Like I said, if you’re afraid of being on the road, get one of those dorky little scooters. Otherwise, back to the drivers handbook

You could be the perfect driver and still get hit. Getting hit especially for young people is scary for them. It’s normal. Car accidents happen multiple times a day everyday.

Bad things can happen anywhere. If you are behind the wheel and afraid, I am not trusting you.

I hope you never have to teach children how to drive.

My grandpa taught me when I was 10. My dad drove with me when I was getting my license . After every drive he told me what I needed to work on. I then taught my girlfriend to drive bc her dad didn’t. Maybe your parents just didn’t teach you well. 🤷‍♂️

My grandpa taught me across different vehicles. I’ve never had a ticket or was in an accident that was my fault. I was however hit by a 40 year old man who didn’t know how to drive. I also was hit by a drunk driver. So naturally I’m nervous on the highway

I mean boo hoo? Be nervous all you want I’m just gonna be spatially aware. Accidents wouldn’t happen as much if your license was harder to get. Also I’m not arguing against your point, you’re just specifying my belief to your situation.
