They’re hunters looking for a gatherer to settle down with

Well it works as a filter, if someone’s not okay with that way of life then they won’t be interested, if they are okay with it, and therefore share the same interests as the man, they might be interested

All of these hunter gather comments are out of touch. It’s because most men don’t take pics of themselves, so the ā€œbestā€ pics they have are from accomplishing something within their interests/ hobbies. Hunting and fishing are result based activities, so they get the most pics taken……. But knowing that people hate those pics and still posting them? That’s an entirely different thing

Men are hunter gatherers. For many people, it may be their favorite outdoor time waking up early, getting outside to your boat or stand, a few hours of cold fresh air in silence heightens your senses and naturally energizes you. It’s like saying why do women need to show off their butts in pictures? Maybe to show off or show they’re fertile?

Idk. It’s been statistically proven women don’t like it by a landslide yet it’s still something that I see 1/5 profiles. So unless you’re really trying to find your female hunter partner, I see it as a man too stubborn or too stupid to see obvious things and that’s a red flag. Like if that’s what you want to attract that’s one thing but most guys who I see live in the heart of the city looking for a city girl but advertising themselves as a country boy. It’s counter intuitive.

Yeah it’s gross and hunting doesn’t even bother me. Like, write it in your profile. I’ll take a man all day long who can give me fresh venison jerky. But I don’t want to see a deer head with its tongue lolling out. Like even girls who are ok with the hobby will likely not be ok with the image of it. It’s like the psychology of sales. You have to know how to sell yourself. If you only have 6 pics to do it in don’t make one of them see you as gross.

I’m not against hunting but I’m always iffy with people who seem so happy while doing it Like if you’re just doing it for conservation or food reasons then sure that makes sense But the joy you see in their faces in a lot of those pictures is disconcerting to me

Well I’d say the same thing about them I guess but something tells me it’s a lot rarer. Now ass pics are prolly another story. In which case I’d totally relate to a man venting about girls profiles being ho-ish

We’re definitely on the same page. But also like fishing. I don’t get it. I know that’s definitely a person preference. But when I see a guy holding a fish I’m not impressed all I think is… so he makes a hobby of being quiet and alone for long periods. That’s boring so left. lol. But I’m also not in a period of my life where quiet and calm hobbies even remotely are attractive.

I disagree. I’m okay with hunters. But I don’t wanna see your dead deer head. So, I’ll left swipe because you’ve grossed me out even though I’m ok with you hunting. And like I noted prior I see it as if you know statistically 42% of females are immediately fatigued or grossed out by fish/hunting pics, then unless you REALLY want a female hunting buddy, then it shows you’re too stubborn or too stupid to know how to show off your personality.

… 3 exceptions to the hunting pic = left swipe rule… cause I have a rule. If I see a hunting pic or fish pic. It’s almost guaranteed left

Anonymous replying to -> #6 19h

Also it’s more than the pic it’s a personality. It’s not a secret that nearly half of girls are turned off by that. If you’re curating a profile to sell yourself to girls and you make 1/6 of the pics to sell yourself despite knowing this fact then I’m not interested in wasting my time on someone that hardheaded or dumb. Most girls are analytical that way when it comes to their partners. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Okay so what’s wrong with fishing pics? Most of the time the fish isn’t dead

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #6 19h

Same reason. It’s known it’s disliked so unless you are seeking a girl to fish with you then it’s dumb to post that pic. Personally for me fishing isn’t gross but it’s boring. And if you’re selling yourself as someone who likes to sit in silence for hours at a time as 1/6 of your personality I’m flying to assume you do this on a weekly or biweekly basis and… well… you’ve now sold yourself as a boring person in my eyes.

Okay, but that’s exactly the point. A guy that loves to fish isn’t going to want to date you either, so the filter is working exactly as it’s supposed to.

I’m going to be so honest, you just seem really really judgemental

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #6 19h

If that’s their prerogative, sure. Then yes it as a filter. It works well. But I’ve also learned that most guys don’t do that, but I’m also not going to sit around and waste my time trying to figure out which of those guys do it and don’t. It’s not seen as a cool hobby again for 42% of females. And that’s just one aspect of a profile being looked at. So if you want to exclude nearly half the dating pool for that one pic you had better really love it. Otherwise you’re not too smart.

Anonymous replying to -> #6 19h

lol, I can be. But this one is just stat analysis. And I am mind blown by what I see. It’s like if a company knew that an ad would ruin 42% of their market if they rolled out an ad and they did it anyways, they’d be called BudLite and get laughed at.

The goal isn’t to attract 100% of the female audience, the goal is to attract one singular person šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I really don’t see how this is an issue. It’s just like putting flags in your profile, showing your opinions and values through visual communication.

upvote 5 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #6 19h

I think you’re misunderstanding. If fishing isn’t your life and it’s a passion and you want a girl to join you in that passion post away because that is you advertising yourself to get your target audience. But if you’re in the city seeking a city girl, don’t advertise yourself like you’re seeking a country girl when that pic is something you do once a year.

Okay I get what you’re saying about only doing it once a year, but fishing is not exactly a country thing? Literally the entire world does it?

upvote 5 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #6 18h

Correct. But what I’m saying is you have 6 pics to show off your personality. Meaning if you post a fishing/hunting pic I’m left to believe it consumes 1/6 of your life unless you make a joke out of it clarifying otherwise. For example I rave every other week so I have pic of me raving because if a guy hates EDM they won’t like me. I’m not gonna post a pic of me crocheting because I only do it a week out of the year even though I like it as a hobby…
