“Everyone left of Bush is a communist and everyone right of Clinton is a nazi.” It’s all cynical, the blues don’t actually think Trump is a fascist, the reds don’t actually think Biden is a communist.

I’m fine with the country, as a matter of fact politics is kinda supposed to be cyclical. It’s the body politic buying into the narrative that’s the problem, if we were smarter the caveman propaganda wouldn’t get votes and politics would get smarter. Democracy is a system of government in which the people get exactly what they vote for, no kings means no one to blame but ourselves.

The protest is stupid, but the analogy works to show how the people are directly responsible for the state of our society. Having no king/nobility/lords means we are finally and ultimately responsible.
