So she gets cold sores, 80% of population does. If that’s a dealbreaker that’s your choice.

I think if you like her, stick with it. Just you know, use protection, like you normally would. If things get serious there are meds you can take to reduce your chances of contracting it. I wouldn’t blame you for backing out because of this but personally I wouldn’t want to miss out on someone I’m really vibing with when it sounds like she has the condition under control anyway.

Wouldn’t expose myself to that willingly personally, but if it’s worth it to you then that’s your call

no, that's generally HSV-1. HSV-2 is usually the genital one.

Really I thought it was the way like 1 is worse and 2 is bad not as bad, hmm oh well still stands about 40% population has hsv-2, still his choice if he wants to pursue.

HSV-2 is definitely not 40% of the population.

You’d be surprised actually considering most people don’t test for it unless during a flare-up. I definitely meant adult population but according John Hopkins medical research from 2024 1/6 aged 14-49.

HSV-2 is the genital one (I had a test on that today)

in what world does 1 in 6 equal 40%?

It’s a rough estimate because if we account that per cdc adult population in ‘24 that average rate was 40-50 mil adults have it. In ‘24 approximate adult population 18 and up is 267mil so that’s ~14-18%. But that 1/6 only relegates 14-49 but we don’t have a number for the 14-17 population and it doesn’t account for minors underneath who are unfortunately effected by abusers and then babies by reckless adults, nor is there a number for 50+ cause we know retirement homes are std breeding grounds.

There are numbers missing but also many people are not forthcoming about their statuses. Which is why conservatively i definitely believe at least 40% has it.
