"nexplanon may be impossible to remove" is among their warnings. As someone who almost died from nexplanon I will always say don't start something you might not be able to stop.

I like the patch! Change once a week and the fourth week is ur period. If u forget the patch u get ur period tho and for me no side effects but it can be annoying to have a patch on ur body

i’m a little late but i’m currently on the nuva ring after being on the pill for about a year (couldn’t remember to take them either lol) and i think it’s super underrated! i’ve heard it’s not quite as effective as some others but it’s still a hormonal birth control like the others and to me it seems like that’s in part due to not using it correctly/replacing them when you’re supposed to or using expired ones. plus it requires a bit more effort on the users part compared to nexplanon or an iud

after you get it, for a good while you’ll bleed and then your period comes and goes from time like once the bleeding stops the period becomes irregular

you just gotta replace it once a month/once every cycle. in terms of difficulty with use i’d say it’s definitely easier than a diva/period cup (i can’t figure those out for example) and maybe a little more difficult than a tampon (although i would say it’s much harder to tell that it’s there once it’s in compared to a tampon). fair warning, i’ve had no issues personally but a friend of mine experienced issues with acne/mood bc of it and had to switch to something else

it's also described as "localized hormones" so there's less people who have side effects from the estrogen aspect (nexplanon, depo, and most pills are progesterone)
