Yes. You can be everything from the old “I support the LGB, but not the rest.” Crowd, to a gay person who thinks all gay people are figs. You’re not required to subscribe to a social ideology because of intrinsic traits like sexuality. Be as pro LGBT or anti LGBT as you believe, there’s no reason to ascribe to something you don’t agree with.

I kinda feel like I get what you are saying because you can be gay and not want to associate with the mainstream lgbt+ community that some people call the “woke version” I know several friends who are gay and don’t like to associate or do pride things and I am asexual and don’t like the idea of pushing it on others like some do. Most people don’t care what we do or are as long as we aren’t MAKING it their problem and shoving it in their faces.

As a straight lady, you can so be gay (liking men) and not wanting to subscribe that community. Just cause you’re gay doesn’t mean you have to associate yourself with them

Intersexual and asexual which are both physical disorders and sexualities depending on if it’s biologically caused or a sexuality

For example I am biologically asexual because I have several disorders that mess with my hormones and libido but some have no biologically found reason and just identify with it best

Are there meetings on this sort of thing? To OP’s point, I feel like the expansions are alienating the base.

I so wish there was but how would you label this sort of think without causing controversy, being called homophobic, and being cancelled in this day and age

Some of these things people are genuinely born with or CAN be physical or mental health disorders but when you mention that you immediately get backlash nowadays. I’ve read up on it in psychology texts before and things

You’ll get hate for this, but I fully stand by this take based on the points that 4 made. May I ask for your reasons?

My true thoughts will get me a timeout but those are the only ones that I recognize as natural human variations. The rest are just mentally 🤪 or seeking attention imo.

Ahh I see. I agree with you on that and I’m gotten put in timeout for similar views. What do you think of the “ia” part of the lgbtqia? Do you think asex and intersex are also mentally ill or just doesn’t fit because both are physical disorders (according to 2)?
