Ngl, a lot of adoptions become nightmares. Many are fine obviously but it’s much more likely to turn out badly just because you really don’t truly know what you’re getting. I have family in different areas who have adopted and in both cases it has been extremely difficult in the end. Lots of behavioral issues, lashing out, just lots of issues and only with the adopted kids, not the biological siblings. Yet my sister adopted two and one is a such a good kid. So imo it’s a risky life long decision
I know it’s a lot of work. It takes so much to help these kids. It really can go either way. But at the end of the day I feel like it’s a very harmful narrative to push that all foster kids are crack babies and nightmares. Especially when that isn’t fair to the ones who are fine and will end up living full lives. At the end of the day it’s not their fault.
