My mom doesn’t monitor my little sisters (10, 12) phones enough!!! How can I protect them? They post youtube shorts, they text whoever they want (boys included), and they have unlimited and unrestricted access to the internet. Help i worry so much

That would be a conversation you’d have to have with your mom There’s all sorts of restrictions you can apply if you have access to things like their cellular provider/Apple family

Best thing for you to do is help them genuinely understand the consequences of certain actions and try to prevent the kind of mistakes the older generations made at their age. You can’t make them stop interacting with the internet at this point, but you can help keep them safe by informing them.

Tbh limiting time/places they have their phone is a good start. They’re inevitably gonna explore the internet and find something bad no matter how much you protect them, so you have to make sure they trust you enough to come to you with questions/concerns. Otherwise they’ll just try to hide it even harder. Maybe emphasize that they shouldn’t be posting themselves? That’s the worst part imo

Wallah i’ve tried so many times!!! She says she will and never does and I feel fucked up having to be a mother to my sisters because I don’t want them to resent me but im going through them phones! it’s so unsafe

This is great advice thank you im gonna have a talk with them and let them know that I don’t think THEY are doing anything wrong but they need to be careful and i’ll try to make it a safe space so they know they can come to me if something “weird” ever happens because I know they would be scared to go to my parents
