I think 2 years is fine. But 22 and 18 would be a big difference. Once you get to college it’s more about maturity and less about age (I was a 19 yr old freshman and became besties with a 17 year old and we are still besties almost five years later (23 and 21)

This is a very normal age gap 😭 but if you want someone who is in the same phase of life as you then that makes sense
