The actual worst people are in jail. Whatever dickhead you think you are seeing out in life, I assure you; there is a worse person locked up in a cell somewhere

So cruelty is not how you get what you want... no, unless what you want is jail. But neither is kindness unfortunately, unless what you want is deep meaningful long lasting relationships. If you want money, sex, fame, status, .... you need to be opportunistic

That is not good or bad. You need to stop thinking about good and bad. You need to only think about "Does this get me closer to what I want?" You'll do bad things and good things along the way. But the morality will never be the goal, just another consideration. You'll also probably start to hate yourself and others along the way... but selling your soul is never free
