I’m pretty sure it’s a cultural difference. She lives in another country and is very overly friendly. I’m not someone who considers people to be close to me until I’ve known them for some time

That’s how I feel about it It doesn’t feel like she’s being disingenuous, but with everything she’s asking of me, I just feel really uncomfortable

this is interesting to me because Americans are generally viewed as some of the most outgoing/overly friendy (to strangers) people worldwide. even if this girl is Canadian, i cant think of a culture where this would be normal (since it seems like a lot even by US standards). -american 19F international studies major

How old are you guys, really? Because your own idea of best friends meaning you call each other every day, create a podcast together, make an ig account about your friendships, and write letters to each other is so infantile and childish you don’t seem so different from her yourself.

Those are not my ideas Those are her’s I forgot to include quotation marks in my original post I don’t particularly want to do any of those things, in fact, but she is incredibly insistent Frankly, no one here has given any good advice on what to do, and I wanted to find an alternative solution, but if she keeps bothering me, I do plan to just block her
