My friends and I are going to the protest tomorrow. Any advice? I’m a little nervous

gotcha friend! here’s a list of important things to bring: water (at least 2/person; extra is good to hand out to others who may need it), granola bars (same idea as the water), a med kit, and posters/signs if you can make any in time (although people often have spare!). make sure to dress discretely in plain, black clothing, wear a mask, sunglasses, and a hat (it’s vital to cover any easily identifying marks such as tattoos/scars/bithmarks/etc.). also make sure your shoes are just as plain! often people identified by their shoes. make sure to turn off biometrics on your phone and set a strong password if you’re worried about things getting sketchy (and either completely disable all tracking/service connection/etc on your phone or leave it behind, i’m not sure how to explain this well, i’d suggest looking up how to do this on youtube). and write down emergency contact #’s somewhere hidden on your body just in case (sharpie is best). oh! and set up a spot for your and your friends to regroup if you get separated!! keep track of each other’s hydration as well (the heat can sneak up on you fast). make sure to review your state’s protest and recording laws as well just to be safe. i know this is a lot, but as long as you prep well you’ll be able to navigate a bad situation in the case it arises. there’s plenty of videos you can watch for tips too! overall, make sure to stay cautious and ditch the scene if things start looking sketchy. don’t be afraid to talk to other protesters either, everyone tends to be super friendly :]!! playing music is also a good call too and can help rally everyone’s spirits! that’s all i can think of atm; wishing you luck tomorrow ^w^!!
