Loud = dangerous Dangerous = comfortable taking risk = masculine = desirable to women = looked up to by other men

Listen, I agree the loudness is annoying. But there is an argument that loud = SAFE. Drivers in cars just do not see motorcyclists 🙁 So at least a loud engine alerts traffic around you that you exist. Also, wear your helmets, kids!

Also ripping down residential streets and running red lights is not “SAFE”. Not all motorcyclists do it but enough of them do it to reenforce the stereotype.
