np! athletes can cut weight like that because they just need to hit a single weigh in, so doing super unhealthy stuff like cutting water entirely can dip them under the cut off for a fight. actually losing weight that won't spring back as soon as you drink a glass of water is a much slower process

Make sure to increase activity and eat more protein and carbs if you’re trying to lose weight! Your body needs energy to keep moving and protein to rebuild. I’m also trying to lose weight, we got this!! (Meant to reply to OP, but you’re also correct #1)
