It’s def not uncommon, one of mine was recently convinced we were trying to kill him so if he had to use the bathroom I had to step in every square inch of his bathroom to show it wasn’t booby trapped, he thought my pen was a knife until I let him write with it, my work phone was a taser until he got to examine it, his meds were poison until he got to see the bottle and read that there were originally 30 in it and he had ~15 now. His food was poisoned unless he got to watch us open it
That’s crazy. No, we have one that is convinced that we’re gonna try to kill her too and I feel so bad for her like she’s so confused but at the same time it’s really really hard to do anything around her because she lashes out because she doesn’t know where she is, and she’s convinced that we’re trying to kill her. It gets bad for them
I felt so freaking bad for him bc he was also very confused as to why he had to be there and he’s a vet. Like I get it bc at one point he spent years having to be worried about being killed but also we all tried so hard to be as accommodating as possible. It was a once a day thing where he just wouldn’t take meds or they were crushed into applesauce. Weekly visits w the doc to reexplain everything were common too
