Walking. Jog in place. Do little exercises. Park farther back when you go to the store. Every little bit of movement is movement and it adds up. Its hard to get into it but little lifestyle changes go a long way. Also almost every gym has a great community. I get the feeling but you will be fine at the gym. Depending on your end goals, what you want to do will be different. Just lose fat, you’ll want weight lifting, cardio, little diet changes. Just better cardio, just move more.
I took my sister from 210 to 140 over the course of a year. Start with 15-20 minutes of treadmill, then bicycle, then elliptical. Once you get into a routine push it to 30 minutes each. Then after 6-8 weeks start adding some light weight lifting. If they have a class like “body pump” take it. All the spin classes if you can.
Listening to music while walking outside is a good start! I also recommend doing a set of bodyweight exercise while taking breaks from studying. Like sometimes when I work at my desk I get bored, so if no one’s around I do 8-10 reps of an exercise (Bulgarian split squats, modified push ups, etc) and then get back to work. Helps prevent me from getting antsy at my desk!
I also recommend doing yoga at home by following along with a youtube video. Before I exercised regularly I found myself feeling back and hip pain a lot, so yoga helped me fix the pain without it being too strenuous, it was sort of my gateway to more intense exercise. There are also different levels of intensity, so you can find something that won’t be overwhelming to start with and then work your way up.
