While I believe religion has its place of importance in people’s lives, I’m taking this history course rn and we’re going back in time and studying how Greek religion and myths spread over the years and I’m realizing just how man made religion really is 😭😭

Personally I am going to have to disagree with you. There are to many scientific discoveries that cannot be explained without religion. Have you ever seen life come from non-life? This makes it easier to believe that instead of a big brain and an astronomical amount of luck it’s easier for there to be a creator. Everything ties into some sort of intelligent design which points to a creator.

I have to partially disagree. Many religions at their base are be kind and treat others with respect, take care of your neighbors and the planet. I don’t see any issue teaching kids these values. Religion when taught correctly should NOT be political.

We already know of avenues in which abiogenesis can and likely did occur. We didn’t have cell phones 100 years ago but that doesn’t mean they’re magical or come from a “god”. A lack of evidence or understanding now does not a god make.

Just cause there is a lack of science doesn’t mean you fill the gap with god did it. Ancient Greeks thought planets were held and rotated by the gods. But with time and more knowledge we filled that gap that “god” took to science. So just because you don’t know or can’t explain it doesn’t mean it’s god. You just have to accept you don’t know.

Those are all very basic principles of being a social species. No need for any “religious” ties at all. Especially when so many have horrific views in their ‘holy’ texts.

Yeah that’s the surface level surface of all teachings. Go do some in-depth research on the main religions and you’d be surprised yourself. A lot of shocking and scary ideologies
