people inherently avoid discomfort, and sometimes people enjoy hurting others. For the most part tho it’s because people are babies and think it’s “less harmful” to cheat than to break-up. Sometimes they also want the relationship to end but don’t have to balls to end it in a healthy way

I feel like there are MANYYY potential reasons for it but a couple I know of are: they like the “excitement” of hiding an affair, but others may just be bored in the relationship.

i don’t know why they do it but sometimes people don’t let them break up like you’ll try and they become obsessive like not an excuse but sometimes it’s so that SO takes the hint since they won’t let go of them
