I think sex is just so normalized nowadays that it's expected in most romantic relationships by both parties

not to be that guy but i really don’t like the implications of how you worded this. there is nothing wrong with wanting a relationship that includes sex, that being said if someone says that they want a relationship but they actually want someone to fuck around with and they don’t disclose that up front or they don’t contribute romantically- that’s fucks up. conversely, it should be more normalized for people to want romantic nonsexual relationships without feeding into purity culture
