Should I (21f) disclose to my partners that I contracted mono close to 4 years ago? I recently did a lot more research on it and while I’m probably not contagious after 4 years I’m worried
It’s mono not herpes you don’t need to disclose, it’s the kissing sickness anyways you’d be surprised the weirdest ways people get mono.

Eh probably not? Sure you can get cancer from it but after 4 years i don’t think you’re still contagious

Yeah Epstein-Barr virus (the actual bug that causes mono) is linked to Burkitts lymphoma by causing mutations in the B cell lineage (important for immune functions, specifically by mutating the MYC gene)

Most immunocompetent people don’t get it tho and the “classic” presentation is more closely linked to being endemic to Africa, but the actual most common presentation is within the abdomen
