My cat hasn’t been doing to well recently and the vet thinks he might have cancer (but it doesn’t seem painful for him -yet at least-) and I’m so devastated…

I really was hoping it would be some other issue but it isn’t looking good. I know when the time comes it’s best for him to be put to sleep, so he’s not in pain, but I really don’t want to kill him, I love him so much.

I don’t want his last moments to be afraid in some vets office away from home, but I don’t want him to suffer either. How do I come to terms with all of this? I feel like I’m overreacting but I’m so devastated I feel like it’s the end of the world
