Im a college athlete. My coach kicked me off for missing just one practice and I even gave him notice first. My friend surprised me with a weekend trip and as soon as I found out I told him. He said I had to be there and I said I couldn’t. Thoughts?

It’s not about giving him notice or not. It’s about impulsivity and a lack of commitment and loyalty. There’s someone who would be desperate to take your spot. He doesn’t want you on the team if you don’t care as much as the other person

If you’re not thinking about going to the respective league or are not on a full ride academic scholarship you should probably just go on the trip
