Strangers I need your honest thoughts: I’m a gut from Alpharetta, GA and its 100 degrees outside - clear and sunny. Being said, I always wear a hoodie, pants and sneekers. As a stranger, whats your reaction to this?

100 degrees wearing a hoodie?? That doesn’t sound fun.

I’d be cautious because I’d assume you’re possibly hiding something

Its an anxiety thing. I have a poor self image of myself. I know I'm not unattractive though, its hard to describe how I feel exactly. Until I figure out how to sort that out the goodie gives me comfort.

I understand. I use to have the same thing. Good luck on your journey.

What did you do to change?

I used to purposely wear long sleeves WHENEVER possible and cover my small wrists. I’m skinny & I didn’t really like it because i felt odd. Eventually, I realized people don’t care and it was ALL in my mind. Then the weather got hotter and i had a job where i HAD to wear a uniform up to my elbows, so my whole arm was showing. That low self esteem eventually faded & i gained back my confidence.

That's about where I'm at now. I've been purposely wearing polos in the car, for quick errands, slowly building to go full time. Then I'll incorporate tees and shorts

I’m shirtless at home. It took me a while to get to short sleeves outside. Just to let you know, it was ALL IN MY HEAD. No one really cared and now it’s better. Shorts ill wear now, it’s just gonna take time that’s all. The SUMMER is a blessing because it forces you to wear short sleeves.

That's a great perspective. I view winter and fall as blessing because I can be ‘normal’ But I'll come around to your way of thinking soon enough!

I also LOVE wearing long sleeves during the winter. But yeah, summer is definitely a blessing. It’s forces you to show more skin.
