But that seems more like a San Francisco/LA problem than a national healthcare system problem. It might just be that area is unlivabley expensive even for people making good money. They clearly have marketable skills that could be applied to another job with health insurance in another area. I don’t see why the taxpayer needs to support the decision to live in an area like that. I support a social safety net for people who need help because they can’t support themselves.
Your reaching for one, you have no clue where this guy lives and if he is living somewhere out of his means than that is his problem not the governments! He lost his medicare because he has the means to pay for it he is choosing not to. We should instead focus on the people making under 100k a year who are struggling! This is what keeps our tax payers dollars down by lowering the amount of medicare people who have the means to pay for healthcare but choose not to because they don’t want to
Oh, I see the confusion. I got this job about two years ago, right after finishing my master’s degree. At that time, I couldn’t afford health insurance, so I was on Medicaid. I had also been on Medicaid throughout high school, so it was easier to extend my coverage. Now, my coverage is ending soon, and with Trump’s new bill, it looks like I’m going to have to switch to premium health insurance — which is going to make everything a lot more difficult.
