Not gay — this is a pretty common male experience, more related to something called “homosocial” rather than “homosexual”. It is how members of a gender interacts among their own in a non-sexual way. It’s more of a sociological/anthropological term.

I think both men and women need to step back from the whole gender wars and acknowledge that men and women aren’t monoliths. It’s never “all women” or “all men” when it comes down to it. Think about how or what you do when you meet these women, what are you looking for in a person, where would you be able to run into someone on the chiller side. Likewise for women who want to meet the right guy. It’s normal to feel more at peace with people more similar to you.
