Yes and also memoirs. Realistic fiction is the technical term for anything that didn't actually happen but could theoretically... but readers don't really refer to it as that. It's usually just general fiction or whatever the primary genre is

I mean, closest possibility is creative non-fiction but even then a lot of historical fiction works that might be considered super accurate aren’t always classified as creative non-fiction. Genres are weird but he’s just being flat out wrong lmao
