Once again, that just isn’t true. Sure there are assholes in MAGA but to say the majority or even the plurality of them are some kind of psychos who believe empathy is un-American is just wrong.

95% of Trump voters are normal nice everyday people. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, 95% of democratic voters are also normal, nice, everyday people. People don’t wake up, support Trump and kick a puppy just for fun. There is an empathy problem building in the western world, but it has much more to do with the lack of a super-ordinate principle that unifies us as a civilization, and the amplification of extremes created by the internet than it does with a 8 year old political movement

When do they mock empathy? I’ve never seen that, I’ve never heard of that. Everything I do hear is the same as that quote where Charlie Kirk supposedly says “empathy is woke.” When he was actually saying he thought the word empathy had been co-opted and he preferred the word “sympathy”.
