Can’t go wrong with a MacBook. I like them because they don’t get very hot. I’ve had intel laptops that I can fry eggs on.

Get a MacBook Air or something. You don’t need a touch screen.

For engineering: a gaming laptop. I’d personally get windows over a MacBook but that depends on the software you’re using. I personally use a Lenovo laptop.
