So as a guy who has struggled with that in the past, I would say yes and no. Statistically most guys struggle with this, like around 75-90% depending on who you ask, so I wouldn’t make it a complete deal breaker, but don’t just let it slide either. Tell him how you feel about it, and give him a chance to at least try to change, and maybe even offer to help, maybe by being an accountability partner by helping him set up a Covenant Eyes account. If he doesn’t even genuinely attempt to change…

kind of a unique case but my bf was addicted for awhile as a trauma response kind of thing from s* abuse in his childhood. It started to bother me a lot and it kind of came to a breaking point in our relationship, so he started serious therapy both for his trauma and his addiction. It’s helped him so much and even though healing isn’t linear, he’s doing really really well. express ur concern and if he isn’t willing to ACTUALLY try to change, leave

Think about it like this: you can break up with him for any reason.

…when you’ve made your feelings about it clear, then just dump him. Relationships are about hard work and sacrifice for your partner, and if he’s not doing that, he’s not good enough for you! Also, book recommendation for him to help him recover, Unmuzzled by J.S. Shelton

Also if you can’t afford Covenant Eyes, Plucky is a free alternative, but it’s not as good!

Thank you! It’s something I’ve personally struggled with since I was like 11 or 12 (I’m turning 20 in a few months) but I’ve finally started to get control myself lately, praise the Lord šŸ™Œ, and so I’m pretty passionate about the subject and helping other guys on their walk to freedom! Honestly I’m really happy to see this comment bc I was worried people were gonna be mean about it but it seems like everyone is so supportive so far 🄹

ā€œUsing all modalities of pornography, 91.5% of men and 60.2% of women herein reported having consumed pornography in the past month.ā€ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30358432/ ā€œAmong U.S. adults 18-35, about 87% of men and 28.5% of women view porn at least once a weekā€ https://www.ecarebehavioralinstitute.com/blog/porn-addiction-statistics/ Part of it is the COVID lockdown having isolated men for so long.
