most men won’t even admit to being shy/insecure/etc so that’s probably it

Bc people see shy as submissive and that’s supposed to be a womanly trait. The same with silence- there’s the ‘strong but silent’ archetype, but that requires the strong part. For the most part being a quiet person is seen as less bold, and therefore less masculine. Seen but not heard type shit Tl;dr sexism. Sexism hurts us all

I can get men not wanting to admit insecurity but I mean I’m pretty sure people can tell if a man is shy or not

well yeah, but a lot of guys won’t go asking for advice on shyness because it hurts their pride or something

That’s fair, but then it just loops back around. Why is shyness/introvertedness seen as something bad?

i think it’s because men (at least the ones i know) want to be seen as big strong tough guys who aren’t affected by shyness and stuff like that. but that’s just my speculation
