I totally feel you and yeah, if it was me, I would have a hard time resisting the urge to do what’s right, but unfortunately, some people just aren’t in positions where they can afford to put anyone for themselves. OP would never risk a lawsuit over that the business would get sued, employees don’t have any liability for that. I would feel bad not reporting but if it meant, I might not be able to afford food that week, I couldn’t do it

That’s is a very fair point to consider. I avoided reporting my old daycare job bc I knew 2 people who were incredibly desperate for it. One left, and the bitch I needed to report died, and my boss will get a report when the other person leaves later this year

Dude no you can’t always afford it. If I lost my job today I’d quite literally not be able to afford food or rent. Sure I can get hired somewhere else but it’ll be around 1 week turn around and then another 2 or 3 weeks before I get my first pay check and only if I get hours right away. You sound very privileged talking like living paycheck to paycheck is easy. Oh also, fuck off, don’t act like you know anything about me.
