people that learned a language after highschool/college age- how’d you do it? I took Spanish K-12 and still remember a decent amount of vocabulary and very basic grammar structures, but I’d love to get back to being conversational level WITHOUT Duolingo.

There’s plenty of good online resources from universities explaining grammar, conjugations, verb tenses, etc. USE ChatGPT if you’re looking for a translation that makes sense for the context. Also, SPEAK to people

Find some media, like books, tv, movies that you already know pretty well in English and try to find the version in Spanish. Helped me a ton learning to be conversational in French

I learned Portuguese at my university, I believe the way my professor taught was a huge key to it having been so easy to learn. Granted, I am also a Spanish speaker and the languages are probably 70-80% similar, especially in conjugation so that helped a lot, but the way and order she taught things in really were key I feel. Maybe you can take a course somewhere?

Books and I lock myself away with them. Going on a trip? Take a book and lock in. And I mean like a textbook. I just write out the vocal a billion times

Ooo I would love that! Can you shoot me a DM? It won’t let me send you one. I am super busy this time of year but once August hits I’d be so so so down.. I still remember a bulk of the vocabulary, it’s mostly the grammar and past/present/future (can’t remember what that’s called lol) I’m needing a lot of help with!
