
Just to be clear she probably is guilty but like that’s not even the defense’s contention. They are pleading insanity and for her to essentially go to an asylum which going by the details of the case seems like the best option considering she was experiencing psychosis even before the murders. Like not just postpartum she was legitimately hallucinating and experiencing mass paranoia and her family knew that.
Is it confirmed she was hallucinating though? Isn’t that the million dollar question? The experts that testified said she definitely was suffering from severe emotional and mental health issues but that she still was aware of what she was doing and made the choice to carry out those actions, that she hadn’t expressed any signs of hallucinations but instead said she was hearing voices telling her to kill her kids?
